Cadie Simmons is a native of Mobile, Alabama and a mother of two. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Alabama. She has always enjoyed fitness, but with the stress of business ownership and life, she found herself in need of a routine that went beyond the physical aspect of exercise. This led her to join Above & Beyond Yoga in November of 2020, with the intention of improving her mental health and finding more peace in life. After two years of practicing, she decided that she wanted to deepen her yoga knowledge and completed Above & Beyond’s Pure Power teacher training in October 2022, as well as the Hot Hatha training in November 2023. In addition to yoga, in 2023 Cadie began playing Sound Bowls. It is the qualities of peace and healing that these instruments provide for herself and others that make them so special to her.
“Sometimes, we can find ourselves so wrapped up in the external world or the chatter of our minds. It is when we take moments of pause that we can find peace from within. There are times to do, and there are times to breathe and simply be. It is an honor to guide others through these moments of peace.” What began as a practice to help ease stress, has flourished into a beautiful holistic journey of light filled purpose and fulfillment. Cadie teaches Hot Hatha and plays sound bowls at Above & Beyond Yoga. |

Guest Instructor
Binata, a physician by training, has led the development and delivery of human capital programs for more than a decade. Her work at Rice University and at the University of South Alabama is centered on helping individuals transform in their leadership journey. She is instrumental in developing and managing the healthcare leadership concentration in the MBA program, coach training for medical faculty at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine, healthcare leadership certificate program at the MCOB, and teaching various other leadership courses.
Binata's teaching is informed by her experience in leadership roles before transitioning to academia. Introduction to mindfulness while in elementary school, along with life experiences in leadership roles, and living and working in different countries across the globe, prompted her to delve deeper into mindfulness in search of her authentic self, understanding human nature, and healing. Rooted in the belief that awareness of and the ability to be with one's emotions are critical for a leader, she brings 'consciousness' to her teachings to help individuals lead their professional and personal life with choice. Her research interest rests upon understanding how aand what style of coaching can facilitate the development, growth and wellbeing of individuals, with emphasis on healthcare professionals. She is a certified leadership coach, Integral Unfoldment coach, certified mindfulness facilitator, certified iREST Yoga Nidra teacher, and Certified EQi 2.0 administrator. |
